Although LTS does not support a Spares Purchasing Program or a Spares Repair and Return Facility, we do provide spares administration for all Customer-owned on-site spares. MTSG works with our customers to assist in determining critical sparing levels and geographic spares placement. MTSG provides spares administration at all LTS assigned sites. This includes the removal of a faulty circuit pack from the site and return to the Customer for repair and replacement utilizing the Customer’s RMA process, receipt of a replacement spare(s) from Customer’s spares depot and the return to site of the spare for storage.
LTS adds the inventory records of the Customer’s distributed spares into the LTS Spares Inventory System for tracking and monitoring of spares deployment. Dependent upon the type of Spares Management agreed upon by Customer and LTS, LTS will provide quarterly reports on the status, location and condition of the spares placed under LTS control.
Upon request, MTSG can manage the inventory of Customer-provided spare equipment (“spares pool”) and facilitate the failed unit return process to the Customer for any units used in fault remediation utilizing the Customer’s RMA process. After the Customer determines the required sparing plan and critical sparing levels, LTS and the Customer agree to LTS-controlled locations where the these spares shall be retained.
After a spare unit is put into service, the failed unit is returned to the Customer for repair or replacement. Once the failed unit has been repaired or replaced and returned by the Customer, MTSG will place the good unit in the spares pool for future use.
